Bounty's ganja trial March 31

The trial involving popular dancehall deejay Rodney 'Bounty Killer' Price on ganja-related charges should have started earlier this week in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Instead, it was pushed back until March 31 after the entertainer's attorney Linda Wright, told the court that she could not begin the trial as she had another one that had already started in another courtroom of the courthouse.

The matter was then rescheduled by Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis who extended Price's bail.

According to police reports, the deejay who heads the Alliance was reportedly seen smoking in the vicinity of First Caribbean Bank along Grenada Way in New Kingston in October 2009. He was accosted and searched and a small quantity of marijuana was allegedly found in his possession.

The artiste was subsequently charged with possession of and smoking marijuana, but has since denied the charges.
